Tottenham are prepared to splash their Champions League cash on Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano if they see off Young Boys.
Spurs face the Swiss side tonight in the first leg of their play-off to reach Europe's elite club competition. Qualification to the group stage would be worth at least £10 million and could set the wheels in motion for a bid for the Brazil World Cup 2010 star.
The 29-year-old had appeared close to a switch to Marseille, but the deal fell through at the weekend due to his £12.2m valuation. With the Spanish side already targeting FC Twente attacker Bryan Ruiz as Fabiano's replacement, Spurs are expected to launch into action if they progress next Wednesday after the second meeting.
Fabiano has attracted attention from a number of European clubs over the last few years. The Brazilian international is currently rated as the eighth best player plying his trade in Europe at the moment by the Castrol Rankings.
