Santos reporting Chelsea to FIFA over pursuit of Brazilian wonderkid Neymar - report
The Brazilian club claims that Chelsea approached the 18-year-old before he played with Brazil in a friendly against the United States on Tuesday night, according to the Daily Mail.
The defending Premier League champions have been chasing after Neymar for most of the summer, and have seen one offer for the young Brazilian rejected so far.
Santos are adamant that they will not give up Neymar for less than the £29.6million release clause in his current deal with the club.
Chelsea have already avoided a UEFA transfer ban after their controversial capture of Lens midfielder Gael Kakuta, and the Blues have denied that they did anything wrong in that case.
West Ham United’s £12 million bid for Neymar, who has scored 32 times in his 33 matches this season, was also rejected by Santos last month.
There were loud objections in Brazil that Neymar was not taken to the World Cup this summer by manager Dunga.
However, under new manager Mano Menezes, Neymar performed brilliantly against the USA on Tuesday in his full Brazil debut, scoring the team’s opening goal in the 29th minute.
