Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen's move to Liverpool cannot go ahead until Javier Mascherano has departed from Merseyside, according to a report from the Liverpool Daily Post.
A £6 million deal has reportedly been agreed between the clubs for Poulsen, with the Dane withdrawing from his national side's game against Germany having had a three-year contract offered to him.
The deal can seemingly only go ahead though once Mascherano has left. The Argentine has looked likely to join up with former Reds boss Rafael Benitez at Inter.
However, Inter are yet to sell Mario Balotelli to Manchester City, and do not have the cash needed to prise the £25m-rated Mascherano from Anfield.
The Argentine's representative in Spain, Horacio Zandonadi, insisted this week that Barcelona were not also interested in the 26-year-old midfielder.
