Tottenham Hotspur forward Peter Crouch is thought to have become the leading transfer target for Liverpool.
Much has been spoken about the Reds' front line, with particular emphasis on the lack of top notch striking options to act as a back up to star hitman Fernando Torres.
With the Spaniard having been courting the medics on a regular basis in the recent past, the Merseyside club have been shown up in the attacking third of the pitch - as David Ngog is the next most potent option available to manager Roy Hodgson.
Elsewhere in north London, it is thought that England international Crouch could be on his way out of Spurs, as the club are reportedly looking to raise funds to mount a bid to sign Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Young.
With the 29-year-old towering forward having already garnered links with Everton and Liverpool in the past, the Liverpool Daily Post has claimed that the forward has become the leading transfer target for the Reds.
Crouch previously spent three seasons at Anfield, before moving on to Portsmouth and then Tottenham.
