Nice claim Loic Remy will not be joining Stoke City
French striker not expected to move to Britannia Stadium...
by Gareth Lovell
The Potters, along with several other Premier Leage clubs including Liverpool, have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, after he indicated he would be interested in moving to England.
Stoke reportedly stepped up their pursuit of their striker earlier in the week, opening talks with the striker and showing him around their training ground.
However, despite being impressed with the club's facilities the 23-year-old admitted he would not rush into a decision regarding his future and was now focusing on Nice's first game of the season on Saturday against Valenciennes.
The club's general manager Patrick Governatori also appeared to rule the Potters out of the running by telling L'Equipe: "It will not be sorted out with Stoke [City].
"I hope he [Remy] will score on Saturday night. If he can play a good match, he could get the opportunity to be in the French starting XI [against Norway on Wednesday]."
Reports in France suggest scouts from Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and West Ham United are due to watch Remy in action for Nice.
The French side are believed to want a fee of around £11.7 million (€14m) for the striker.
