Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle confirms interest in Oldham Athletic striker Tom Eaves
Trotters boss a fan of League One youngster...
By Drew Swainston
The 18-year-old, who has made only 15 appearances for League One side Oldham Athletic, caught the eye of the Scottish manager when he hit a hat-trick against his side in pre-season.
There has been mounting speculation Eaves is set for a move to the Premier League this summer and Coyle has confirmed he has enquired about taking him to Bolton.
He has already secured the signings of Martin Petrov, Robbie Blake, Marcos Alonso and Ivan Klasnic and has also been attempting to seal loan moves for Arsenal's Jack Wilshere and Manchester United's Tom Cleverley without any success.
"The young lad in question has a terrific talent," Coyle said.
"I was actually aware of him before the game and then that cemented what we already knew.
"There are a number of young players out there that we have made an inquiry about or have an interest in, and it would be remiss of me to start talking about individuals.
"But it's fair to say that he is a young lad with talent and has a chance in the game."
