PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Afellay: I haven't heard anything from Arsenal about £11m move
Midfielder could extend his stay at the Dutch club...
By Adithya Ananth
The 24-year-old, who is proficient in playing in the middle of the pitch as well as in a wide position, was previously linked with a move to north London with speculation suggesting a £11 million swoop.
In the meantime, it had been reported that PSV's financial problems could see the player being sold instead of running the risk of losing him for free, but it appears that the Dutchman — who was involved in his country's stellar run to this summer's World Cup final — could be willing to commit his future to the club that has housed him for the entirety of his career.
"My contract is still open, I'm looking ahead with PSV and I am happy," Afellay said, according to Voetbal.
"My focus is on PSV. I have not spoken with PSV [about a transfer], and there is nothing concrete that could take me away from here."
