Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has confidence in Petr Cech, Hilario and Ross Turnbull
Blues boss backs three goalkeepers…
By Danny Hart
Petr Cech is recovering from a torn calf muscle and looks set to miss the start of the season, while his replacements have not impressed in recent friendlies.
Ross Turnbull was handed his chance to prove his worth against Ajax on Friday but grabbed the headlines after gifting the Dutch side a goal in the 3-1 defeat in Amsterdam.
Sunday’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt saw Hilario play the full game but he failed to impress, making several mistakes throughout the match, which the Blues lost 2-1.
Ancelotti admits that although there have been errors made by his goalkeepers, he is still fully behind them.
"We had some problems with goalkeepers but it can happen at this moment of the season," he is quoted as saying in The Guardian.
"We have to maintain trust in these goalkeepers. For other players, it was the first game [of pre-season] and they had problems. They are not fit."
