Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is actively seeking reinforcements at White Hart Lane as he seeks a squad which is strong enough to tackle the Champions League, domestic competitions and possibly a surprise assault on the Premier League title.
The Portuguese forward has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A this summer, but his agent Lionel da Silva has stated that England is his most likely destination.
"I believe Yannick [Djalo] will not play in Italy," Da Silva is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
"He is a player who is wanted in England and Tottenham looks like the most likely destination."
However, Djalo has already appeared in the Europa League qualifiers for Sporting which would rule him out of featuring for Spurs in their European campaign.
The 24-year-old, who has represented his national team at U21 level, would join his brother in London if he was to make the move, as Aliu Djalo is currently at Chelsea.
His arrival could also spell bad news for Robbie Keane. The Irishman became frustrated at a lack of opportunities last season, and spent the remaining months of the campaign in the Scottish Premier League with Celtic.
