Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has renewed his interest in signing Charles N'Zogbia, following the midfielder’s revelation that Wigan Athletic will allow him to leave.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues chief had cooled his interest in the 24-year-old after an £8 million bid was rejected by Latics owner Dave Whelan.

However, it is now believed that an offer of £10m for the winger has been lined up, a finanical package that is thought to good to turn down by Wigan.

N'Zogbia has been called into the France squad by newly appointed manager Laurent Blanc following the suspension of their players who were part of the national team’s strike at World Cup 2010.

N'Zogbia is thought to be key in McLeish's pre-season preparations after Birmingham were put off by the high asking price placed on Aiden McGeady by Celtic, while their plans to sign Ryan Babel from Liverpool have also hit the rocks with the Dutch international not wanting to move to the Midlands.
