The Mario Balotelli to Manchester City saga looks to be getting closer to a conclusion, according to Inter president Massimo Moratti, who confirmed talks will resume at the beginning of next week.

Agent Mino Raiola and one of Balotelli's lawyers have been busy negotiating with City's top-brass and the deal will look to be finalised sooner rather than later as Moratti verified that a meeting will indeed take place on Monday.

"We will return to the negotiating table on Monday," he told Sky Sport 24.

"It's necessary that all three parties are happy when the talks have been concluded."

Meanwhile, Inter are currently on a pre-season tour of North America and are ironically set to face Manchester City in Philadelphia this weekend.

The Rafael Benitez era will kick-off for the Beneamata and the Spanish tactician spoke about the Balotelli situation along with the speculation surrounding Maicon.

"We don't control the transfer market," he said. "We are only thinking about training at the moment but incoming quality players are always welcome."

Benitez is also eager for the Serie A season to start and is relishing the challenge of defending all the silverware that Inter won in the last campaign.

"It's hard for me to take over a team that won everything last season but I see that the players are working hard and are still hungry for success," he concluded.

Inter will also make stops in Baltimore, Toronto and Dallas as part of their North American tour.
