Fulham's new manager Mark Hughes is to move for West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green if Mark Schwarzer leaves the club, according to The Daily Mail.

Schwarzer has been persistently linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the summer and has reportedly been offered a player/coach role at the Emirates.

The Gunners had a £2 million bid for the veteran goalkeeper turned down earlier this summer by Fulham, who are believed to be asking for £4m for the Australian.

And the speculation linking Schwarzer with Arsenal seems to have reignited Fulham’s interest in Hammers' goalkeeper Green.

The 30-year-old was rumoured to be a transfer target for the Cottagers last month, and now a new manager is in place at Craven Cottage, they could move for the England international.

Should Schwarzer leave to join Arsenal, Fulham would be left with inexperienced goalkeeper David Stockdale and veteran stopper Pascal Zuberbuhler to choose from, so could well pursue their interest in the West Ham man to bolster their options in this key position.
