Luke Young's expected move from Aston Villa to Liverpool has reportedly collapsed, according to The Sun.
Earlier this week, Villa manager Martin O'Neill confirmed that the club had received a bid for full back Young, believed to be in the region of £2.5m.
The 31-year-old did not travel to Portugal with the rest of the Villa squad for a pre-season friendly, in an attempt to thrash out a deal with Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson.
However, the Sun claims that talks between the player and Liverpool have since collapsed.
The news will also anger Hodgson, who is in desperate need of a left back after Fabio Aurelio left the club and with Emiliano Insua set to join Italian side Fiorentina.
