Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas is set to repeat his demand of a move to Barcelona in showdown talks with manager Arsene Wenger within the next 48 hours, according to The London Evening Standard.

The 23-year old reportedly told the Frenchman earlier in the summer about his wish to return to his boyhood club. This was met with a firm negative response and a subsequent £29 million bid from the Catalan club was rejected.

The Spain World Cup 2010 winner is reluctant to hand in a transfer request and will instead reiterate his desire not to wait 12 months to make the switch. This stance is likely to force Wenger to ponder the merits of keeping an unhappy player.

Fabregas will not play in this weekend's Emirates Cup but is expected to appear at a members' event on Tuesday. He will now hope that Barcelona president Sandro Rosell can force through a £40m move, despite the Spanish club's £366m debt.
