Sunderland defender Paulo Da Silva looking to establish himself at the Stadium of Light this season
South American stopper hopeful of staying in the North East...

Paulo Da Silva says he is hoping to stay at Sunderland and become a valuable member of the team, following an impressive World Cup which reportedly attracted a number of potential suitors.
Da Silva, 30, was in impressive form for Paraguay in South Africa, but the defender, who was brought to the club by Steve Bruce last season, has no intention to leave the North East as long as he is getting opportunities to play.
"After some days of having some rest I am going back to England with a big expectation of starting the season," Da Silva told the press.
"I am going to join the team in the training sessions and trying to get myself a place in the team."
Da Silva is keen to replicate his form at the World Cup for Sunderland in the Premier League, and is aware that his recent form for his country will not guarantee him a starting position in Steve Bruce's side for the opening day of the season.
"You can't live thinking about the past," he added. "I know that there have been positive comments about me in the club but it depends on the coach if he is going to have me in consideration or not."
Da Silva hinted that should Sunderland deem him surplus to requirements at the Stadium of Light, he would be prepared to leave.
"I also know that there have been some proposals, that some offers arrived at the club for me but I think that the club doesn't have in mind letting me go as the league is about to begin.
"But if an offer arrives and it's something useful for the club and for me, then maybe we'll have some talks."
