Roma director Daniele Prade has dismissed an interest in West Ham winger Valon Behrami, following reports linking the Swiss international with a return to Serie A.

A recent report in Il Corriere dello Sport claimed the Lupi were planning a €6 million raid on Upton Park for the former Lazio midfielder.

But Prade offered a contrasting view.

"We have never made an offer to West Ham. Our team is almost complete," Prade told Il Messagero.

"Our priority is a central defender and a left winger that could be an alternative for John Arne Riise. As for the rest we will remain as we are."

The central defender Roma have been tracking is Inter's Nicolas Burdisso. Negotiations have broken down over the transfer fee.

But his agent Fernando Hidalgo is hopeful the clubs will reach an accord.

"Nico wants to play with Roma and the club are making a big effort to land him," said the agent.

"Nico has made his choice and he wants Roma, and they are aware of this."
