West Ham United boss Avram Grant has cautioned Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp that Scott Parker is not for sale.
The Hammers rejected a £7 million offer from Spurs for the England international, with co-owner David Sullivan reiterating that he will not sell Parker this summer no matter what.
Redknapp is looking to improve his team as Spurs get ready to kick-off their Champions League campaign, and identified Parker as a top target.
Parker played over an hour in West Ham’s 2-0 victory over MK Dons on Wednesday,and Grant insists that he wants to keep Parker and build the Hammers squad around him.
“We want to plan for the next few seasons and Scott Parker is a big part of this process. He is a very good player and has a good influence on the young players,” Grant told The Telegraph.
“He is a good professional and there will not be any news about him. I can tell you that if I am disappointed with Harry I will tell him face to face.
“Scott Parker is a good player. I’m sure if he was for sale that other teams would want him as well. But we are a team with ambition and we want to progress.”
Sullivan has remained true to his claim that Parker is the only West Ham player that he would not sell this summer, and has offered the midfielder a new five-year deal worth £75,000-a-week, despite the fact that the Englishman has three years left on his current deal.
