Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has said that he is willing to wait as long as it takes for him to sign the players that he wants to improve on a squad that finished 11th in the Premier League last season.
Thus far the Potters have been quiet in the transfer market - signing only young Portsmouth midfielder Florent Cuvelier - but they have allowed five players leave the club.
And while rumours have been circling linking Stoke with the likes of West Ham United striker Carlton Cole and Manchester City forward Roque Santa Cruz, Pulis says new additions will probably not be forthcoming any time soon.
"We will see what happens," Pulis told The Sentinel.
"I'm just glad no-one is linking us to the players we want.
"I think the best deals will be done at the back end of it and we may have to wait until the back end to get the players we want.
"But what we want is players with the attitude we already have at the football club."

Greg Stobart reports from Old Trafford: “We’re having a bit of a lull here, on and of the pitch, but I don’t think the drama is over this afternoon. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Kenny Dalglish so passive on the touchline - he’s looking rather fed up as United look to see the game out as we head into the final 10 minutes. The visitors have never got going in the second half and United are looking very comfortable at the moment as they dominate possession.”
