West Ham United reject bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Scott Parker
Spurs fail in bid for midfielder....
by George Watts
West Ham United have rejected an offer from Tottenham Hotspur for their midfield talisman Scott Parker.
Parker, who was an influential figure in the club's survival in the Premier League last season, has three years left on his current contract, and the Hammers have begun negotiations with his agent over a new five-year deal.

West Ham chairman David Sullivan has always maintained that he would not be willing to accept any offers for Parker, who was one of the few Hammers players to emerge from last season’s relegation scrap with credit to his name.
The club had informed Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy of their stance before any fee was talked about, and appear adamant that the former Newcastle United and Chelsea player is going nowhere.
“I made a promise that I would not sell Scott and I will not, for any amount of money, break that promise to the West Ham supporters,” Sullivan told the Hammers' official website.
"Scott is not for sale at any price, to anyone. West Ham supporters, for far too long, have had owners that sell their best players and promise one thing and do another.
"This is a new era. We are building a bigger, better West Ham and when we make a promise, we honour it."
