Inter attempt to sweeten deal for Javier Mascherano by offering Liverpool Sulley Muntari - report
Inter are keen to off-load Sulley Muntari to Liverpool to ease negotiations for £25 million-rated midfielder Javier Mascherano, according to the Daily Star.
Mascherano, 26, is understood to have informed Roy Hodgson off his desire for a reunion with ex-manager Rafael Benitez at the San Siro. The Anfield outfit are prepared to allow the Argentina skipper to leave in order to raise funds at the debt-ridden club.
Inter are not keen to pay the full price, however, and are looking to cheapen the cash end of the deal with a player-exchange with Muntari.
The combatitive Ghana international has previous Premier League experience with Portsmouth and could be a ready-made replacement for Mascherano.
