Everton are determined to stop Mikel Arteta from joining Arsenal or Manchester City and have slapped a £25 million price tag on him, according to the Daily Star.
Arteta, 28, has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park all summer after he was believed to be keen to move to a higher profile side. Both City and the Gunners were understood to be in the race for his signature, as the former Real Sociedad player tries to win a place in the Spain squad.
Everton manager David Moyes is committed to retaining the playmaker and has insisted on receiving a huge fee. The Toffees' demands are rumoured to be beyond the figure Arsenal and City are prepared to spend.
