Sunderland sign Titus Bramble from Wigan Athletic on three-year deal
Defender links up with former boss at Black Cats...
By Zack Wilson
The 28-year old has inked a three-year deal at the Stadium of Light and links up with former Latics boss Steve Bruce once again.
Bruce was delighted to have added the defender to his squad, telling his club's official website: "Titus was absolutely outstanding for me at Wigan. He matured into a very, very good player so there was absolutely no hesitation when the chance came to bring him to Sunderland.
"He was certainly the right player at the right price and this is a great deal for the football club."
Bramble is the second player to have followed Bruce from the DW Stadium to Wearside, with midfielder Lee Cattermole having joined the Black Cats last season.
Bramble himself was pleased that the deal was concluded and was relishing the chance to work with Bruce again.
"I'm just happy to be a Sunderland player," the ex-Newcastle United man said.
"Steve was a massive part of the move. Having played for him at Wigan I know what a good manager he is.
"I played the best football of my career under Steve. I know what a big club Sunderland is and I am delighted to join."
"Steve's man-management skills are amazing and I know how he likes to play the game so it wasn't a hard choice to make.
"I know quite a few of the backroom staff already plus Catts and Benty so I'm sure they will make it easier to settle in."
