Joe Cole believes that Liverpool have enough quality to challenge for trophies this season if Fernando Torres stays
Englishman is hoping to get chance to win honours with Spanish hitman

After much speculation over a possible exit from the club, Torres gave the strongest signal that he is set to commit to Liverpool after two days of discussions with Reds MD Christian Purslow.
Cole believes that if Torres remains with Liverpool that they will have the quality to compete for the trophies that the Spain international is seeking.
“I came here to work hard and challenge for honours with Liverpool, and with the players we have got then it is possible,” Cole told The Mirror.
“Just look at the team we have got already.
“Fernando is as good as anyone in the world in his position, and the same applies to Stevie Gerrard in his position. Then you have got Pepe Reina who is up at the very top, and Jamie Carragher, who has been one of the best there is for a long time.
“There are Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt who had great World Cups, and so many other top international names that roll off the tongue.
“If we can keep players fit, then we can play well together. It’s all about us being together as a team and having the spirit which can take you a long way.
“If you add that to the quality players we’ve got here we can go a long way – I believe with the world class players we have we can do great things.”
Even though the Spainiard has recieved heavy interest from Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester City this summer, it appears that Torres will remain with the Reds, who are looking to improve on their disappointing seventh place finish in the Premier League last season.
