Manchester City interested in move for £30m-rated Benfica star Ramires - report
Manchester City are holding talks with Benfica for £30 million-rated Brazil international midfielder Ramires.
City are now turning to the Brazil World Cup star after their move for Aston Villa midfielder James Milner stalled, according to The Mirror.
Roberto Mancini was impressed with the 23-year-old’s performances in South Africa as Ramires performed well in the four games he played for Brazil at the World Cup.
Real Madrid, Chelsea and Fiorentina are also interested in Ramires, who joined the Portuguese club for £5 million from Cruzeiro last summer.
City and Giuliano Bertolucci, the agent of the Brazilian, have allegedly discussed a possible move for the young midfielder, who has a £30 million buy-out clause in his current deal.
City are hoping to add Ramires to their acquisitions of David Silva, Jerome Boateng and Yaya Toure, looking to secure the Benfica star for the reduced price of £22 million.
