Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton predicts bright future for youngster Haris Vuckic
Toon boss praises Slovenian midfielder…
By Danny Hart
Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton says young midfielder Haris Vuckic has a promising future ahead of him.
The 17-year-old, who has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea over the summer, scored in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Carlisle United.
Hughton is looking forward to seeing Vuckic, who made four appearances for the Magpies last season, in action for Newcastle.
"He is a talent, he's a player who we think has got a very good future at the club," Hughton told BBC Newcastle.
"We look forward to seeing him enjoy a promising career in a Newcastle shirt."
Vuckic - along with young striker Nile Ranger - have featured during pre-season and Hughton says the duo have impressed him.
"They have not done themselves any harm," he added.
"Of course Ranger was involved more last season than Vuckic was, and he has developed. Vuckic is a young player who was injured last season, so he'll be delighted to have got through a good pre-season so far."
