Arsenal youngster Jay Simpson's impressive pre-season form could see Arsene Wenger hand him one more chance to forge a career at the club.
Simpson, 21, is well thought of at the Emirates but has been shipped off on loan several times due to the fierce competition for places. The England youth international followed his successful spell at Queens Park Rangers - where he grabbed 12 goals in 39 Championship appearances last season - with a brace in the Gunners' 4-0 friendly victory against Barnet on Saturday and this performance has put him back into the Frenchman's thoughts.
With 12 months remaining on his contract, a move to Celtic, Blackpool, Nottingham Forest or Leicester City was expected. However, he may now keep his starting spot for Wednesday's friendly against Austrian side Sturm Graz in a hint he could stay at Arsenal next term.
