Francis Jeffers has reportedly been offered a trial with newly-promoted Blackpool.
The out-of-contract striker was released by Sheffield Wednesday in the summer after failing to secure an extension to his deal but could now be set for an unexpected return to the Premier League.
The 29-year-old burst on the scene as a youngster at Everton and was signed by Arsenal for £8 million in 2001. However, with a career hampered by injury, Jeffers has been plying his trade in the Championship since 2007.
Sky Sports News report that the striker, who has been capped once by England, will start training with Blackpool on Monday.
