For the past three days, Goal.com UK has been asking you to voice your opinions on how Sir Alex Ferguson should look to improve his Manchester United squad this summer, and with the votes in, here are the results.

59.96 per cent wanted Ferguson to improve the midfield, with a further 25.06 per cent hoping to see acquisitions in the striking department before the start of the new Premier League season. A satisfied 7.88 per cent were happy with the way things are, while 4.16 per cent wanted to see changes in the back line.

56.19 per cent chose Mesut Oezil as the man Manchester United should do their utmost to sign, with the majority wanting to see the Germany star strutting his stuff at Old Trafford in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Oezil finished ahead of World Cup finalists Wesley Sneijder and Rafael Van der Vaart, who received 33.18 per cent and 10.63 per cent of the vote respectively.

2 players that featured in some interesting suggestions for additional signings were Real Madrid’s Lassana Diarra, who was a player some of you suggested, while one fan called for the Red Devils to lure Manchester City’s Stephen Ireland to Old Trafford.

The new man slots into the middle of a two-tiered midfield, with the Werder Bremen star playing just behind Wayne Rooney. In YOUR team Rafael da Silva starts at right back, while many were calling on French starlet Gabriel Obertan to feature, although not enough to see him start. Also, you remain hopeful that Owen Hargreaves can finally escape from his injury nightmare to partner Darren Fletcher in midfield.
