Manchester City could sell Craig Bellamy after completing deal for David Silva - report
Manchester City now consider Craig Bellamy to be expendable after sealing their £25 million move for Valencia winger David Silva.
The Welshman was one of City’s best performers last season but it appears that manager Roberto Mancini, whom Bellamy has not gotten along with, does not believe that the 31-year-old deserves a place in the starting XI, according to The Guardian.
City launched an internal investigation after Bellamy was heard speaking poorly of Mancini after a 2-0 home loss against Everton in March.
The incident was never proven, but with Silva passing a medical to make his move to City official, the Eastlands club could put the Wales international up for sale.
Bellamy now has to decide whether to leave the club or stay and battle Silva for his place in Mancini’s starting line-up.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp would be keen to make a move for Bellamy but acknowledged that his £95,000-a-week wages would make a move for him unlikely.
"City bought him for £12m and the player must be on considerably high wages," Redknapp said.
“I just don't see it happening."
