The full-back was a free agent after being released on a free transfer by Chelsea earlier this summer. The Rio de Janeiro side have announced on the their official website that Belletti will undergo a medical test later this week before signing a two-year deal with Fluminense.
The 34-year-old defender started his professional career at Cruzeiro and also played at Sao Paulo and Atletico Mineiro before making the move to Europe in 2002. Belletti impressed at Primera Division side Villarreal and earned himself a transfer to Barcelona two years later.
He enjoyed his finest moment at the Catalan giants on 17 May 2006, when he helped Barcelona to Champions League victory by scoring the match winner in the final against Barcelona.
The defender then joined Chelsea in 2007 and made over 90 official appearances for the Londoners. However, the Blues opted not to give him a new contract this summer.
The former Brazilian international is now likely to end his professional career at Fluminense.
