Sunderland make second bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Nelson Valdez - report
Sunderland have made a second bid for Paraguay and Borussia Dortmund striker Nelson Valdez, according to a report from Sky Sports.
The 26-year old, valued at £10 million, may be available for just £4.2m due to a recently discovered release clause in his contract.
If the Premier League side are to land Valdez, they will have to make a very attractive offer, as the player has been linked to clubs all over Europe.
"There is a lucrative offer from the Netherlands I have received," said Valdez.
"But there is also interest from Russia, Portugal and England. My agent is weighing up options."
Valdez's contract with Dortmund is set to run until 2012, but the former Werder Bremen forward is keen to move abroad.
Earlier today, the player was linked with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, but the highly-rated forward reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League.
