Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy believes that striker Andy Keogh will want to continue playing in the Premier League.

The former Scunthorpe United forward has been linked with a move to Championship club Doncaster Rovers, with reports indicating that the south Yorkshire outfit may have already made enquiries about the player's availability.

The 24-year-old had a positive start as Wolves were taking baby steps in the top-flight last term, but was unable to feature consistently in the starting line-up as McCarthy chose to play Kevin Doyle as a lone striker up front.

"I think Andy will want to stay in the Premier League," said the former Sunderland boss, according to Sky Sports.

"He was our best player at the start of last season.

"There's also no chance of Andy going out on loan."

Keogh may have further trouble making regular appearances in the Wolves first-team, following the acquisition of Steven Fletcher from Burnley.
