Having secured what was their first ever league and cup double last season, it could be argued that whatever acquisitions Carlo Ancelotti makes this summer would be needless.
The Stamford Bridge outfit will be looking to mount a serious assault on the Champions League in this coming season, and the Italian knows that in order to achieve that aim, his squad must be strengthened.
Goal.com UK wants to know which area of the Chelsea team YOU feel needs to be improved during the summer, as we start our hunt for the fans star signing.
ANCELOTTI'S AREAS OF INTEREST
Defence: Ancelotti has an abundance of options available to him, regardless of Belletti’s departure. With both Ricardo Carvalho and Jose Bosingwa unavailable for most of last season, Chelsea barely blinked, as the likes of Alex and Branislav Ivanovic stepped up to the plate, as well as Yuri Zhirkov.
Midfield: Chelsea will look to strengthen here. Benayoun’s early capture shows the attention Ancelotti is giving to this area, and he will look to add further. Germany's Bastian Schweinsteiger would be an ideal addition, while the Blues chief could opt for an Italian, and look to Daniel De Rossi of Roma. Perhaps he fancies a full-English; could James Milner be on the menu?
Strikers: Eternally linked with Sergio Aguero, and a reunion with Milan’s Pato, Ancelotti is targeting more fire-power, while admitting his interest in Inter’s Mario Balotelli. But the Blues are also certain to be monitoring the future of Fernando Torres at Liverpool, with the Spaniard yet to commit his future.
