Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur tracking Stuttgart’s Serdar Tasci - report

Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are in a dead heat for Stuttgart’s Serdar Tasci according to a report by The London rivals are looking to bulk up their defence and the German is a leading candidate for both sides.

A member of Germany’s 23-man-squad for the ongoing World Cup in South Africa, the 23-year-old has been a revelation for Stuttgart ever since the 2006-07 season in which Die Roten captured the Bundesliga title.

Tasci has continued to impress for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, as well as in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Now it appears Tasci will get a chance to exhibit his skills in England as Arsenal and Tottenham are front runners to sign the Germany international.

The Gunners, however, might have the edge in acquiring Tasci as the player’s agent, Uli Ferber, hinted that the player would like a move to the Emirates next season.

“The situation is that Serdar is aware of the interest from the Premier League, and he is eager to play in England at some point," explained Ferber.

"Also he is a fan of Arsene Wenger, the work he has done, and has great respect for him.”

Serie A giants Juventus are also reported to be keeping tabs on Tasci, but the German’s admiration for the Arsenal boss could have him on his way to the English capital this summer.
