Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has urged manager Harry Redknapp to bring his Brazil World Cup 2010 team-mate Julio Baptista to the club.
'The Beast' is reported to be surplus to requirements at Roma and has been linked with Liverpool, Manchester City and Panathinaikos. After featuring as a substitute in a number of the Selecao's matches in South Africa, Gomes has revealed Baptista has been talking to him about Spurs and backed him to boost the squad as they approach their debut Champions League campaign.
"Baptista is a very good player," Gomes said, according to The People.
"He asked me about Tottenham, ‘How is it there?’ and I told him it is a great club to be at.”
