Newcastle United agree a deal with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of James Perch - report

Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have reportedly come to an understanding over a deal for the transfer of James Perch.
The versatile player, who can play in midfield or defence, was believed to have been a transfer target for the Tyneside club, who are yet to make their first signing of the summer.
The Magpies achieved promotion to the Premier League following a sensational season in the Championship, while Forest narrowly missed out on achieving a similar feat when they tasted defeat in the play-off semi-finals to Blackpool - who went on to make the cut into the top-flight.
Now Sky Sports News have reported that the two clubs have reached agreement over the transfer of the 24-year-old for an undisclosed fee.
Perch graduated from Forest's youth academy and plied his trade at the City Ground for six years.

Of course, the biggest talking point at Old Trafford will be Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez re-locking horns, with the latter facing United for the first time after receiving an eight game ban for racially abusing the former. Both managers have been outspoken in their defence of their players this week, with Sir Alex Ferguson musing in today's programme notes that his "biggest regret is the way Patrice has been castigated in some quarters for standing up to racism".
