Manchester City ponder moves for Mario Balotelli, Edinson Cavani, Mirko Vucinic & Karim Benzema - report
By Zack Wilson
Manchester City are stepping up their search for a striker and are looking at a clutch of Europe's finest stars, though VfL Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko remains a prority, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
Inter forward Mario Balotelli, Edinson Cavani of Palermo, Roma's Mirko Vucinic & Karim Benzema at Real Madrid are all on City's list of possible acquisitions, according to the report.
Dzeko is understood to have been the subject of a bid already by City, who apparently remain the Bosnian's preferred choice.
However, City are said to be alarmed by the German outfit's price tag of £50 million, with the Eastlands hierarchy determined not to pay over the odds for any players.
Juventus and Bayern Munich are also understood to have made offers for the striker, whose move may now be complicated by Wolfsburg's unwillingness to back down to City.
