Manchester United planning £15 million bid for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill - report
The 24-year-old centre-back is said to have been watched closely by Sir Alex Ferguson last season and United are now planning a £15 million bid.
Cahill has regularly been linked with a move to United but an official bid is now expected in the next few weeks.
The former Aston Villa defender is said to be seen as a future replacement for Rio Ferdinand who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons.
Cahill was ruled out of action last season when he suffered a blood clot in his arm which ruled him out of a possible England call up.
The Yorkshire-born defender began his career at Villa where he came through the clubs academy before joining Bolton in a £4m move in January 2008.
