Arsenal have targeted a move for Algeria's World Cup 2010 centre back Rafik Halliche to shore up their depleted defence, according to The Mirror.
Halliche, 23, is currently on the books at Benfica, but spent last season on loan at Nacional. He came to prominence with a solid display in the 0-0 group stage draw with England.
With William Gallas and Sol Campbell poised to leave the Gunners, manager Arsene Wenger is determined to add numbers at the back. Halliche has been targeted after moves for Everton's Phil Jagielka and Dynamo Kiev's Pape Diakhate fell through.
