thumbnail Hello,

Player keen on leaving, but club won't let him go...

Rennes have made it clear to West Ham United and Chelsea target Sylvain Marveaux that he will not be leaving the club during the summer.

The 24-year-old put in strong performances for the Ligue 1 side last term, consequently being linked with a move away from Route de Lorient.

Although the midfielder has asked to be allowed to leave the club, the management appear to be in no mood to let go of their prised asset.

"Rennes is my club and I owe them because I have been trained by them and they gave me my chance," said Marveaux, according to Sky Sports.

"But today, large French and European clubs want me, and that has left me thinking, at 24, I think it is time to move on."

The club's general manager Pierre Dreossi, however, maintains that the club have no intention of allowing their player to leave.

"I have said this before and I repeat, Sylvain Marveaux will be with Rennes next season," he said.

"I do not usually change my mind, I've demonstrated that in the past.

"We are looking forward to a good season and expect Sylvain to be part of that."
