Tottenham Hotspur are in a battle with Juventus to land Germany defender Serdar Tasci, according to Die Zeit.
The 23-year-old is highly rated in the Bundesliga and is an important utility man in Joachim Low's Germany squad. His club, Stuttgart, have slapped a £17 million price tag on the head of the player to ward off the interest from Harry Redknapp and Luigi Del Neri.
Tasic is currently on international duty at the 2010 World Cup and his agent, Uli Ferber, says he expects his client to stay in the Bundesliga.
He told the Stuttgarter Zeitung: "Serdar has a contract with VfB. At the moment we are not dealing with a change."
