Lorient midfielder Arnold Mvuemba is hoping to secure a move to West Ham United this summer after reported interest from Avram Grant.
The 25-year-old, who had a two-year spell at Portsmouth, is looking for a new club after being told he will be released at the end of June.
Grant was technical director of Portsmouth during Mvuemba’s short spell at Fratton Park and the player says he would welcome a move to West Ham to work under ‘one of the best managers in the world.’
He told Sky Sports: "I am not just talking about any club, West Ham is a fantastic club and I like their manager Avram Grant, he is one of the best managers in the world so if he shows interest in you, it makes you feel confident.
"I love the Premier League, I want to play there again, I am not afraid of that league, it is the best league in the world and there are contacts there."
Mvuemba is prepared to wait to find a new club until the right offer comes along, but admits a move to London would be his preference.
He said: "I am a free agent so I will take my time with my adviser to choose a club, but London would be a great place to live."
