Celtic are believed to have joined Bolton Wanderers in a fight to secure the signature of former West Ham United forward Ilan.
The Brazilian spent three-and-a-half years with French club St Etienne, before mutually terminating his contract to join West Ham United on a Bosman transfer.
However, things did not go as planned for the 29-year-old, as he failed to live up to expectations at Upton Park, and the Hammers proceeded to release him following the conclusion of a six-month contract.
The Trotters were reported to have had an eye on procuring the services of the hitman, and now The Mirror reports that Glaswegian giants Celtic are also hoping to seal a deal that would see the forward play at Parkhead next season.
Ilan, who is available for free, has been reported to be in favour of prolonging his career in Britain.
