Arsenal launch £11m bid for Netherlands' World Cup 2010 star Ibrahim Afellay - report
Arsenal have prepared an £11 million bid for exciting PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Afellay, according to CalcioNews24.
Manager Arsene Wenger is understood to have targeted the player to reinvigorate his attacking options as he pushes to end a five-year trophy drought. The 24-year old is comfortable in the middle and out wide, with the Frenchman rumoured to have scouted hm for 18 months.
PSV have hit financial problems and are expected to sanction the sale of the youth product, who came on as a late substitute in Netherlands' World Cup 2010 opener. The news will please international colleague Robin van Persie, who has recommended his signing to the Gunners' French supremo.
