Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas claims the 2010 World Cup has 'isolated' him from Barcelona rumours
Spain international keen to concentrate solely on World Cup campaign...
By Daniel Sheppard
Arsenal and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas claims he is focused on his national team commitments and is not concerned with the rumours circulating that he is set for a move to Spanish giants Barcelona when the World Cup comes to a conclusion.
The 23-year-old, who is a product of the Barcelona youth system, is intent on succeeding with Spain in South Africa and claims he will only look beyond that once La Furia Roja's time in the tournament comes to an end.
"I am isolated from it all and I am not thinking about anything else apart from the national team," Fabregas said, as quoted by the Press Association.
"I have come to play a World Cup, which is the best thing possible for a player, with the same excitement that I had at the World Cup in Germany when I was 19.
"I am hungry to do something important and the only thing I will do is always give everything, with a lot of desire and make sure the hunger and competitiveness are never lacking."
Fabregas has scored six goals in 50 games for Spain since his debut in 2006 with the Euro 2008 winners taking on Switzerland in their World Cup opener on Wednesday evening.
