Tottenham Hotspur enter race to sign West Ham United striker Carlton Cole - report
Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be interested in procuring the services of West Ham United striker Carlton Cole.
Spurs finished last season on a high by breaking the domination of the so-called 'big four' to finish fourth, and consequently earn a path into next season's Champions League.
The 26-year-old has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Birmingham City, Stoke City and Liverpool in the past, and The Daily Star reports that this has caused Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp to make an early bird enquiry with the Hammers concerning the possibility of obtaining the forward.
Cole has reportedly been in favour of continuing to ply his trade at Upton Park, but the club's co-owner David Sullivan has maintained that every player apart from midfielder Scott Parker could be sold during the summer.
