Tottenham Hotspur target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar wants to 'prove his worth' to AC Milan
Dutch striker insists he does not want to leave San Siro...
By Alex Young
Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has insisted that he does not want to leave AC Milan this summer, despite interest from elsewhere.
Champions League newcomers Tottenham Hotspur are long-time admirers of the 26-year-old, and are rumoured to be planning a bid to test AC Milan’s resolve, after the striker had a poor first season which saw him net just seven goals in 25 appearances for the Rossoneri.
But Huntelaar admits that he is surprised by constant reports linking him with a move away from Milan.
"I see my name in the Italian newspapers and I don't understand why," said the former-Ajax man.
"I would like to know who has said that I will be sold, because it doesn't seem like anyone from the club has said anything.
"No other club interests me. My agent has never spoken about a transfer and I want to stay at Milan. I will not leave Milan until I have demonstrated my worth.
Huntelaar moved to the San Siro from La Liga runners-up Real Madrid after an unsuccessful spell in Spain, for a figure of £12million, £6million less than what Madrid paid for him six months previously.
