Stoke City boss Tony Pulis happy with fightback at Wigan
Pulis pleased with his side's second-half performance
By Michael Owen
The Stoke boss was pleased that striker Tuncay Sanli managed to convert a Matthew Etherington cross in order to secure Stoke a valuable point.
Tuncay scored in the second half to put his side level with Wigan after Paul Scharner had headed in from 16 yards out in order to give the Latics the lead in the 14th minute of the game.
"We had a slow start, I think Wigan started the better of the two teams and looked pretty comfortable for a while,” Pulis told Sky Sports.
"But we stepped it up after they got the goal - the goal was disappointing, it was a set play - and second half I thought we were the team that were really, really pushing not only to get the equaliser but to win the game."
Talking about taking one point from the game, Pulis said: "We're pleased but it's 40 points, everybody needs that cushion and we've got to strive now to get those 40 points.
"It's eight games now we've gone unbeaten, it's a smashing run but we've got to drive on now.
"We've got two tough games against Man City - one in the cup and then one in the league - and a tough trip down to Portsmouth."
