Aaron Ramsey warns Manchester United that Arsenal want revenge
Welshman relishing 'biggest game of season'...
By Zack Wilson
Midfielder Aaron Ramsey claims he's on a revenge mission when Arsenal welcome Manchester United to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Welshman wants to make amends for the defeat the north Londoners suffered at Old Trafford at the end of August.
Ramsey thinks the Gunners did enough to win the game that day and were unfortunate to come away with nothing after a 2-1 defeat.
“It is one of the biggest games of the season for us,” Ramsey told Wales Online.
“We feel like we owe them [Manchester United] because we played so well at their place.
“We felt we should have got something out of that game and we were a bit unfortunate to score an own goal.
“But we are really looking forward to this game. Everyone is up for it.”
Ramsey joined Arsenal in 2008 after a tussle between several major clubs for his signature, one of which was United.
Sir Alex Ferguson was reportedly confident he had secured Ramsey's services before a personal intervention from Arsene Wenger apparently swung the issue in the Gunners' favour.
And Ramsey has had no regrets, admitting he's pleased he opted for Arsenal over the champions.
"I felt more wanted at Arsenal,” he explained.“By that I mean they did more things to try and get me. They had a plan set out for me and knew exactly how they wanted to develop me.
“The sort of thing they said was, ‘you can improve on this’ and ‘this is what you are good at, so we will do this’.
“I think the boss [Arsene Wenger] here has brought through a lot more youngsters and given them opportunities on a regular basis.
“And that is what he believes in, picking out talented young players and turning them into great players.
“Hopefully I can be in that category.”
