Sir Alex Ferguson believes it's a three way tug of war for the Premier League title this season, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are breaking clear from the rest of the pack.
The Scot, whose team defeated local rivals Manchester City in the Carling Cup semi-final on Wednesday, points to the teams vying for fourth place dropping points, while the top three are enjoying good runs.
“It looks to me that there is some consistency coming from the top three,” he’s quoted as saying by Evening Echo news.
“There are more points being dropped by those trying to get the fourth position than those in the top three now, which makes it very competitive.
“Fourth looks like a league of its own. You cannot dismiss any of them. But I don’t think anything is settled.
"We are not certain to win the league. Neither are Chelsea or Arsenal. But we have all got a chance.”
The Premier League title race will be red-hot this weekend, as Arsenal face United at the Emirates on Sunday, with leaders Chelsea visiting Burnley on Saturday.
